When we submit our entries for the IFBA—Indian Food and Beverage Awards, there's a question they ask: Why should you win this award? And my answer is honest. I share my genuine, clear, and unbiased reviews with my readers and followers. Organic content no matter what!
For the last eight years, IFBA by theFBAI has been taking place, and there's so much more to it than what meets the eye. There's a ton of hard work by content creators across platforms, whether it's social media, blogs, vlogs, print, etc. It's the sheer passion for F&B and travel along with lifestyle. There are many full-time content creators, and then there are quite a few who do this along with their full-time jobs. Maneuvering the path for their journey as a creator.
To be recognized for your work by the fraternity and the esteemed jury is an honor. This is the third year I've won this award for the travel blog. Yes, the blog. Not Instagram, not Facebook. The blog. Something that is only fading year by year and the reader's attention spans reducing to seconds. I truly feel happy when I view my blog stats and see readers all across the globe—yes, from Europe to the US, East Asia to some really small towns in India. I'm no writer. I'm well aware of that, but yet, it encourages me that I'm on the right path, and although I may not have thousands of followers and millions of views on my Instagram, there are these people reading and responding to my travel tales, hotel reviews, and F&B posts on my blog.
This year's IFBA was special because for the first time it moved out of Mumbai and went to Goa. Although I was supposed to travel with my tickets booked well in advance, the unfortunate situation at home over the last fortnight made me contemplate. It was an emotional dilemma for which I wasn't' ready. But my pillar of strength - my family insisted that the show must go on.
Last but not least, I want to thank Saloni Malkani Sameer Malkani and the entire team of IFBA for pulling off such a stellar event. What you guys do is not easy. Yet you all do it effortlessly and humbly. Kudos to you all. May IFBA grow with each year and become a common household name! At last, I want to thank everyone who was rooting for my win. Those who cheered for me. Who have always cheered for me year after year? And those who sent their kind wishes my way. I'm eternally grateful.
