The lock-down made me crave for Momos so I had to try my hand at those at home. I realized after making it that its so easy.
Ingredients –
For stuffing
Carrots – 2-3 (1 cup) finely chopped / grated
Cabbage - Half (2 cups)Finely chopped ( if it’s a small cabbage take full cabbage )
Spring Onion – 2-3
Green Chilies- 1-2 finely chopped
Garlic – 5-6 cloves finely chopped
Ginger – Half an inch finely chopped
Salt – as per taste
Recipe
Finely chop 2 carrots ( approx 1 cup) and half cabbage ( approx 2 cups) 2-3 sprig onions, one green chilli, 5-6 garlic cloves , half an inch ginger
1. In a pan heat two tablespoons oil then add ginger and garlic. Saute it.
2. Then add chilli, carrots cook for about 3-4 mins
3. Add cabbage and salt.
4. Cook it for 5 mins. Make sure you don't over cook it
Ingredients –
For cover –
Maida ( All purpose flour) – 2 cups
Salt – as per taste
Recipe
1. Mix Maida and Salt. Add water gradually.
2. Kneed it into soft dough. Rest it for minimum half an hour.
3. Roll into small round puri shape.
4. Fill it with the 1 spoon stuffing for each cover.
5. Fold it like Modak. (It's much easier than modak)
6. Steam it in steamer for 10 mins
